Small minority-owned businesses may be eligible to participate in the state’s Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program. Annually the state establishes goals for ensuring minority-owned businesses receive a portion of state contract dollars and requires the use of DBE certified companies in many of its construction contracts. Participation in the program could lead to more work for small businesses throughout the year.
