The American Small Business Coalition is back by popular demand to provide government contract training and insight….

Can You Speak Government Contracting–ese? Why It’s Important to Know the Language!

June 16th, 1:30pm – 4:30pm

Business leaders agree that government contracting has its own dialect. This course will teach you terminology key to understanding government procurement activities, which ultimately helps you save time and money in doing business with federal agencies and other contractors. You’ll learn to quickly identify if you’re positioned to do business with a certain department, agency or contracting office based on their contracting practices and understand the difference and impact on your company, of a ‘contracting’ versus ‘funding’ organization.

You are invited to participate in a hands-on learning opportunity! All you need is your handy laptop and we will guide you towards:

  • understanding how the use of NAICS Codes by agencies is different from how vendors leverage them;
  • discovering exactly what PSC Codes are and why they’re important to Government and Industry;
  • knowing what ‘Awards’ and ‘IDVs’ are and how that translates into identifying business opportunities;
  • a better understanding of the cohesive relationship between NAICS Codes and PSC Codes;
  • an introduction to leveraging tools like FedBizOpps (www.fbo.gov) and the Federal Procurement Data System – Next Generation to find more business!

Added bonus: Participants will receive free access to very relevant and useful resources for managing business opportunities.

Cost: Free!
