The Alaska District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will conduct a workshop to help businesses in the area qualify for the HUBZone certification program.  HUBZone is a historically underutilized business zone that gives the small businesses the opportunity to apply for a preference in seeking federal contracts.  These preferences go to small businesses that obtain HUBZone certification in part by employing staff who live in a HUBZone and by maintaining a principal office located in a HUBZone.  The two-hour workshop is designed to introduce participants to the program, help determine whether your business is eligible for the program, and support your business’s participation in the program.

NOTE:  **Qualified firms that submit an application with 48 hours after attending the workshop will benefit  from an expedited review of the applicant’s request for certification.**   The workshop is free, but registration is required online or by calling the Alaska PTAC at  907-274-7232.
