When:

February 20, 2014, 9:00am - 12:00pm -

Where:

3750 Bonita Street, Fairbanks

Cost:

$0

Each fiscal year, the Federal Government purchases almost $500 Billion in goods and services, ranging from paper clips and janitorial services to constructing hangars and hospitals—and pretty much everything in between. Small businesses receive nearly $110 Billion in Federal Contract award. There are procurement opportunities for small business to do business with the Federal Government as a prime and subcontractor. This workshop will cover the different types of procurement methods; how the government sets aside procurements for small business and other SBA socioeconomic groups; what are the criteria for awarding contracts; how to identify these requirements; what are the rules associated with doing business with the federal government and how to market your firm. There will be a live demonstration on where to find procurement opportunities online as well as handouts to assist your firm in pursuing government contracts. It is recommended for small business firms to be registered in the federal System for Award Management (SAM) database (www.sam.gov), but not mandatory to attend. This workshop is free of charge, however, pre-registration is required. Space is limited. Presented by Marichu Relativo, SBA Procurement Center Representative.
