In honor of National Women’s Business Week (October 20 – 24, 2017), the SBA Alaska District Office will kick off the month by giving a presentation on the Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) and Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB) Federal Contracting programs. In fiscal year 2016, the U.S. Federal Government awarded $19.7 billion in contracts to WOSB. Come and learn about these programs and find out how your small business can take advantage of the WOSB or EDWOSB certification.
Are you a woman (or group of women) that owns at least 51% of a small business?
Does this business provide services and/or products that can be used by the U.S. Federal government?
If you answered “yes” to both questions above, then you may be eligible to participate in the WOSB or EDWOSB Federal Contracting Programs. The U.S. Federal Government has a goal to award 5% of its contracting dollars to WOSB. The purpose is to make it easier for women-owned companies to compete and win federal contracts and help them grow.
